New Home Interior Updates

Today on the blog I am sharing an update we did on our downstairs half bathroom that turned out super glam and a paint job on some chairs. One of the ways to find your fabulous is to find ways to make your home cozy and personal to your desire. Personally it takes me a long time to figure out what I want. As my husband says, “I’m not redoing it!”

Wallpaper

I decided to try wallpaper for the first time. Ordering this wallpaper was an accident that turned fabulous! I was ordering it thinking it would be beautiful in my bedroom. When it arrived, it was not how it looked like on Amazon and I was going to return it. After looking at it for a few days I though it may look beautiful in the bathroom and sure enough it turned out fabulous. I personally have never worked with wallpaper. I am not a detailed person; however, my husband is the genius and can create anything I show him.

I wanted to spice up the builder grade half bathroom without spending a fortune so we started with doing the same woodworking that is in the living room area. You can check that out here. My husband is the mastermind for the details on how he put up the wallpaper. Once he started on one piece he had realized to figure out a better way. He then bought this lazer so he didn’t have to use pencil on the wall.

Here is the list of things used to get this done with links to get if desiring to do wallpaper.

I wanted to find the right mirror that didn’t take away from the woodworking and wallpaper. I found this one and it compliments it beautifully. You can find yours here.

Have you ever done wallpaper? Let me know and comments below! I’m thinking of replacing the hardware with gold but not sure yet.

Lastly, I want to incorporate a dark navy into the downstairs so I painted these chairs I’ve had. I love the color of them. I used the furniture paint Dixie Belle in Sea Blue. I also used the cleaner recommended by the same brand as paint and scrubbed the chairs a couple times through and then painted 2 coats of the paint. Loved how they turned out.

I am not your commom DIYer but I do like to share my experiences on creating my home. Hope it gives you some inspiration.

That’s all for now. Let me know if you’ve tried wallpaper and your experience. I may add it into my bedroom when I create the bedroom.

Until next time friends,
