Thats right we are being blessed with another little Wingman in our family! “It’s a BOY!” as they say!
Let’s talk mom life for a second. Have you ever tried to take photos of your kids? I took about 100 shots and finally got about 10 darling ones. It was a workout in itself!
At first I took this darling one and didn’t even think about putting him in his flight suit we had. Why? Maybe because my mom pregnant brain was just trying to get a cute shot for memories, trying to pack for a trip let alone other normal duties for the day.
I sent this photo to my very creative friend Sheena because she inspired me and she said, do you have a flight suit you can put him in?” Well of course I did and a name patch.
And it just so happened I had a ladies flight dress that came with a “Maverick and Goose” patch and I thought about tossing them and praise God I didn’t! I can now use the Maverick patch because that will be our new Wingman’s name….
Maverick Lincoln.
So I took some new shots and here are a few of my favorites.
Now for the most popular question I get recently…How am I feeling?
I am at 23 weeks and this third pregnancy has been similar to my other two. I did have more tiredness and nausea for a longer period of time. I still ate random crazy stuff I don’t normally eat for the first 3 months like pancakes, salty chips, cheesy heavy pasta, bagels and cream cheese, dry cereal, (Cracklin Oat Bran was my go to) and more pasta!
When I’m pregnant I want LOTS of carbs and heavy warm food. And the food that is not exciting for me is meat, usually chicken.
I didn’t even want my daily protein shake for about 6 weeks. So weird how the body reacts.
My favorite things to put in my body while pregnant when I’m not craving “pregnant food” and trying to curb the nauseousness are:
Mila for brain development
Lots of greens in salads and shakes and eggs
Food Babes’s Forever Cookies
Watermelon is a major craving! However I’m not noticing it as much with this little guy.
During this time in my pregnancy is usually when I feel joint/hip/sacrum pain so I have to start modifying my workouts and being careful. I had back surgery in 2012 to relieve the largest ruptured disc my neurosurgeon has ever seen. Ever since then, I have to be careful doing high impact workouts (running, jumping and such) especially when pregnant. The goal from here is to keep moving and eating as clean as I can for baby’s development and my sanity to manage those crazy cravings.
I remember one night when pregnant with my first child I woke up in middle of the night and wanted pasta We don’t usually have pasta in the house and the only thing we had was this nasty packaged Uncle Ben’s rice..(Nate’s) LOL
I made it and it was gross but was so hungry and needed serious carbs! And another time I woke up at 4 am and made homemade blueberry lemon scones and ate the whole tray that morning. No joke! They were “healthier” ones but still! No one needs a whole tray of scones LOL.. even pregnant ladies! Being pregnant is such an interesting experience.
