When I worked at the makeup counter, prom season was one of the busiest times I was putting makeup on gals and these below are the most popular looks I got asked to create.
In this post you will learn what kind of eyeshadow look will look great with a certain color dress as well as how you can learn to recreate the look yourself without hiring a makeup artist.
Got a red dress for prom?
You can go for a gorgeous cat eye with a nude lip like this
or you can add your favorite red lip to add extra color to accent the dress.
A smokey eye also looks gorgeous with a red dress. Just make sure you put a lighter lip color like above vs red when you do the smokey eye to have a great balanced look.

Got a black dress?
You can do the looks above OR my personal favorite is this gorgeous
Gold Glitter Eyeshadow Look

I love this eyeshadow look. I call it The Wine and Dine look. It’s great for champagne colored dresses or even any color of dress because it’s not too much color and not too dark. It’s as GORGEOUS as you are beauty!
The colors used here are gorgeous and a must have in your make up compact!
Do you have a Natural Color dress such as cream or white?
This look is gorgeous for the neutral color dress.
