Today on the blog is all about food and 7 Healthier Sweet Treats you’re going to love.
If you’re anything like me you love sweet treats. Especially at night. I have learned to find “healthier” options as my way of conquering the sweet attack! Today on the blog I will share some of my current favorite sweet treats that are a healthier alternative.
The first tip I will give is DON’T BUY IT. That’s the first step. My husband knows if he wants to buy Nutella he needs to find a special hiding place for it so I will not find it. Then there is good ol’ self control too. That’s for a whole different blog post because it’s all mindset training.
Here are some of my favorite healthier sweet treats. Some you can buy, some you can make.
Every week I make at least a ball or a protein treat to have on hand.
I drink Organifi Gold during the cold winter months. I’ve tried all 3 flavors, Gold, Chocolate and Pumpkin Spice (seasonal) and I like Chocolate the best. I top it with coconut whip cream and cinnamon or pumpkin spice seasoning blend. It’s a great adaptogenic drink with no caffeine. I’ve never tasted anything like it before. It’s kind of like an earthy hot chocolate.
I love Truvani’s Only Bar. A great healthier treat option. I don’t love dates and if something is made with dates I don’t usually like it. They did something different with this bar. It has dates in it but it doesn’t have that sticky date texture. It’s almost like a brownie consistency. There are a variety of flavors and my favorite flavors are the Chocolate Brownie, Mint Chocolate and the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip.
The third of the 7 healthier sweet treats are these delicious crispy bars. I have been loving these Simply Protein Crisp Bars. They are like a healthy Rice Krispy Treat. Costco is carrying them and I hope they continue to. I’ll eat these when I’m craving that crunchy sweet thing.
The fourth of the 7 healthier sweet treats is a homemade treat. These Cookie Dough Balls. are always a go to.
The fifth of the 7 healthier sweet treats are these Dark chocolate covered almonds with nuts. I love these lightly coated almonds from Trader Joes. Just the right amount of dark chocolate and a dusting of cocoa powder Perfect amount! I’ll add a few extra nuts for an extra crunch.
Food Babes Forever Cookies or Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. These ones below are the Chocolate Chip cookies. I love these and so do my kids. Made with a few simple ingredients like nut butter and coconut sugar. They are gluten free if that’s important to you.
This is made from avocado and maple syrup. I don’t usually like pudding but this is different. Really love it. Really simple to make.
If you are at the beginning stages of making healthier choices these are all good options for you. This next one is great for someone who likes candy bars. I’m not a big candy bar person but if you are, these Barebell protein bars are a great option for you to have on hand if you have a hard time resisting the candy bar. Trader Joes carry’s them or you can find them here.
